“Truth is needed before reconciliation can happen.”
The virtual KAIROS Blanket Exercise (vKBE) is an online workshop that brings people together to explore truths that are integral to the reconciliation process.
The vKBE honours the experiential and participatory elements of an in-person Blanket Exercise while making adjustments for a safe experience in an online environment.
Guided by experienced vKBE facilitators, participants are actively involved on a journey through the historic and contemporary relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples on Turtle Island. The journey spans centuries, from pre-European contact to treaty-making, colonization, resistance, and perseverance.
This event takes place via Zoom and requires access to a desktop computer or laptop. A tablet, phone, or other hand-held device does not allow for all Zoom features used during the workshop.
Once you have registered, you will receive the Zoom link and further materials in an email. To prepare for the event, please review the attached document, "vKBE - Instructions for Participants".
Please be aware that the vKBE is a powerful educational tool with the potential to trigger intense emotions. Participants may choose to read through the attached resource, "Coping with Emotional Reactions", before or after the workshop.
Open to everyone ages 18+. Registration is required.
